How to Use Desmos Computation Layer for Table

I’ve used the table in Desmos as a way to provide practice problems to students, assess graphing points from my equation and so much more. When paired with student feedback the table is so powerful. How to Use Desmos Computation Layer for Reveal Answer

This was the first “coding” I used in Desmos and it has since led me to a world of possibilities! Reveal answer unfortunately doesn’t provide you with feedback through the teacher dashboard but allows students to assess their own knowledge through the answer provided. How I Use Desmos With My Students

When I first started using Desmos earlier this year in virtual learning, I used it just for warm ups. I’d create a set with two questions, send the link to students and jumped into our activities for the day. Slowly I realized that my two question Desmos set could be expanded to a whole lesson.Read More

A doctor and a teacher walked into quarantine and A doctor and a teacher walked into quarantine and came out vaccinated!

On the day vaccines came out in the US, I remember listening to The Daily’s podcast. I hadn’t shed tears during quarantine but listening to their recap of the pandemic and the hope on the horizon… I felt a ✨HUGE✨ sign of relief I didn’t even realize I was holding in and felt the tears start rolling in.

Today I am thankful to have received my first dose of the vaccine. Thank you to all the scientists who worked to help make this vaccine a reality! And to my students, I can’t wait to teach you all in person soon! 💕

Are you planning to get the vaccine? Let me know!
New things I’ve tried this week: ✅ Quick Check New things I’ve tried this week:
✅ Quick Check in notebooks. Students submit their answers in Google Forms before we go over the answers.
✅ Splitting my iPad screen with a timer when students are working.
✅ Animated slides as practice with students responding in the chat waterfall style.

Distance learning has been something else but last night I had a moment of ✨gratitude✨ for this experience. I’m normally a “here’s our routine…let’s go” type of teacher and this year has really pushed me to do more. I love that I’m ALWAYS learning and able to try new things in my virtual classroom. Don’t get me wrong, this year is not at all ideal. However I am thankful for the growth I’ve felt this year navigating this online world along side all of you! 💕

What is something new you’ve tried this week?
This weekend, after posting my desk tour someone a This weekend, after posting my desk tour someone asked what I used my large screen for. So I thought I’d share a GLIMPSE of what it looks like for one of my classes towards the end of the day. TBH it really depends on what I’m feeling. For the most part its just extra real estate for me to do things off screen while teaching… like attendance or pulling up links. I usually put my screen share to my larger monitor so that I still have freedom to work on my laptop and it doesn’t take up the entire screen like it does here.

Distance learning is truly no joke but having this second monitor has really made it so much more doable. If you still need a second monitor, check out @twoscreensforteachers to request a free monitor!

What do you all use your second screen for?
